Mixing digital and analog footage with animation, a young woman strives to hold onto the evasive and shifting memories of her late father.

Yi-Chin Tsai was born in 1992 in Tainan, Taiwan. Being a filmmaker, animator, and video artist, she focuses on finding ways to reflect her life experience and observations of the world.

With the combination of experiments of the making process, under camera animation, mixed materials techniques, and analog films, she creates flowing visuals and explores the possibilities of expressing emotion in different means.

Yi-Chin got her bachelor degree from the Radio and Television department in National ChengChi University in Taiwan. And she graduated in 2023 from RE:ANIMA Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, which was in Aalto University in Finland, LUCA School of Art in Belgium and Universidade Lusófona in Portugal.

Her film was selected to international festivals around the world, such as Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, and won prizes in Flipbook Film Festival and Rising Of Lusitania AnimaDoc Film Festival.
